Prevention
In contrast to NADA Austria's doping control system, which combats the in-competition and out-of-competition use of doping substances and doping methods, as the second pillar of NADA Austria's anti-doping activities the Prevention division deals with education, information and awareness-raising. The strategic goal of predominantly clean sport can only be achieved through consistent effort toward prevention in conjunction with an effective control system. The main target groups of the measures, largely of primary preventive nature, are young athletes of all disciplines. NADA Austria's declared goal is to help (prospective) Austrian athletes aspire the ideal of becoming doping-resistant athletes, autonomous and responsible for their own behavior.

As NADA Austria does not have the means of reaching each athlete individually, multipliers are required at the grass roots level who are committed to supporting anti-doping activities. Another focus of preventive work has consequently been placed on the athletes' environment. Each person who works with (young) athletes has to come to grips with the fact that doping poses a risk to the athlete and to sport itself that needs to be taken seriously.
NADA Austria offers free information for all interested groups. Please contact one of our employees for more information.
