ADAMS
The Anti-Doping Administration & Management System (ADAMS) is a web-based global information and management tool. ADAMS is a system for data entry, storage, sharing and reporting designed to assist athletes, federations and the anti-doping organizations in meeting their responsibilities in accordance with the WADA Code.
All data in ADAMS is stored safely and securely, access to ADAMS is carefully monitored and the individual datasets can be accessed by authorized users only. Other areas not relevant to the user cannot be accessed.
ADAMS supports several core tasks of anti-doping work: athletes' whereabouts information, the administration of therapeutic use exemptions (TUE) and the test distribution plan. For the athletes, this usually means a simplification in complying with their whereabouts filing requirements, as the corresponding institutions (WADA, NADA, international federations) to some extent also work with this system or plan to do so in the future; as a result, in most cases multiple filings are no longer necessary. In ADAMS, each athlete can easily maintain his/her master data (usual places of residence, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.) and change it on short notice, if necessary. It is no longer necessary to report changes of this data by fax or e-mail.
In addition, when ADAMS is used, updates on unavailability can also be entered on short notice when an athlete is traveling. Only an Internet connection is required to use ADAMS. Unavailability notices cannot be entered for dates in the past. When ADAMS is used, there is no longer any need to submit written quarterly reports to various institutions (NADA, International Federation, WADA, etc.). By clicking the "Submit" button, an athlete can thus file his/her whereabouts information simultaneously at all relevant institutions.
Athlete whereabouts
The web-based functionality allows athletes to update their information from each country in the world. In the event that there is no Internet access, a representative may be designated to update the data on their behalf. For the anti-doping organizations it is crucial to know the whereabouts of the athletes in order to perform out-of-competition testing.
TUE management
ADAMS allows for the management of therapeutic use exemption (TUE) requests and provides notification of the status of the process. Athletes may enter their TUE requests directly in the system and send them to the relevant national anti-doping agency.
Practical tips
Before logging on to ADAMS for the first time there are a few things you need to check.
- First of all, verify which browser version you are using. ADAMS will work with Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5.5 or higher, Netscape Version 6.0 or higher, AOL 7.0 or Firefox.
- Disable the pop-up blocker (for this site) if it has been installed.
- Forgot your password? Anyone who was logged in at least once and entered an e-mail address in the system can click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to request a new password to be e-mailed to the e-mail address provided. In the event of a new registration, the password will be sent to you by the competent organization.
- If you enter your username or password incorrectly three times, the system will lock you out for 60 minutes, then you will be readmitted into the system.
- When submitting the quarterly whereabouts information, please do not forget to confirm your data separately for each month by clicking "Submit - Submit whereabouts". This function can only be clicked once per month; then you will have filed your whereabouts online. There are two ways to check whether you have done so successfully: First, below "Whereabouts" in the overview on the left, the word "Submitted" must appear after the relevant month; second, if the submission was successful, the words "Submitted on xx. xx…." will appear in the top right corner when clicking on the monthly view. In addition, you will receive a notification under "Messages" - "Notification".
- If no dates are available for the second and third months of the quarter (if, for example, an athlete resides and trains at his usual place of residence for an entire month), the two months must still be confirmed. Modifications or updates can be carried out at any time.
